MACÉ (Laurent), Der Prinz und seine Ratgeber : die Juristen am Hof des Grafen Raimunds V. von Toulouse (1149-1194) in Saint-Gilles, Annales du Midi, 123, Nr. 276, Oktober-November 2011, S. 513-532. In dieser Studie vereint Laurent Macé einige noch verstreute Kenntnisse über das unmittelbare Umfeld des Grafen Raimund V. von Toulouse. Die Arbeiten von André Gouron haben den Autor dazu inspiriert, sich für die Gruppe der Juristen zu interessieren, die dem Grafen bei seinen Gerichtstagen am Unterlauf der Rhone in der zweiten Hälfte des 12. Jh. zur Seite stehen. Prosopographische Analysen erlauben es uns, den Parcours von vier Personen zu verfolgen, die zum Umfeld der bischöflichen Schule in Nîmes gehörten. Sie waren Richter und Hauptsekretäre der gräflichen Kanzlei und interpretierten für den Grafen das römische Recht als Glossatoren ; ihre Auslegung und Interpretation der Gesetze hatte einen dauerhaften Einfluss auf die Rechtspraxis in Südfrankreich. Zur Zeit der großen kriegerischen Auseinandersetzungen in Südfrankreich zwischen den Grafen von Toulouse und dem König von Aragon standen diese Juristen dem Prinzen zur Seite. Ihre Präsenz erklärt auch, warum der Hof des Grafen von Toulouse feste, professionelle Strukturen entwickelte. Die Juristen wurden zu ständigen Ratgebern, die wussten, wie man aus juristischen Argumenten handfeste politische Forderungen schmieden konnte.
The Prince and the Expert : Jurists at the Rhône Court of Count Raymond 5 of Toulouse (1149-1194). Inspired by different work undertaken by André Gouron, this study has no other objective than that of putting together a set of dispersed information on part of the entourage of Count Raymond V of Toulouse. These men were a group of legal advisors who assisted him in his Rhodanian courts during the second part of the 12th century. Prosopographical analysis allows us to follow the trail of four individuals who were mostly educated in the Nîmes cathedral school. Judges and administrators of the county chancellor’s officies, these experts were also talented glossarists who produced excellent exegeses that had a long-standing impact in the South of France. Their presence at the side of the prince was particularly appreciated in the context of the Great Southern War and tended to professionalize, little by little, the feudal environment of the Toulousain dynasty. Having become counsellors completely, these men were able to promote juridical argumentation as a new arm of political affirmation.

El príncipe y el perito : los juristas en al corte rodaniana del conde Raimundo V de Tolosa (1149-1194). Apoyándose en los trabajos de André Gouron, este estudio tiene como único objetivo reunir un conjunto de datos dispersos sobre una parte de los círculos allegados al conde de Tolosa, Raimundo V, o sea el grupo de juristas que le auxilian en sus cortes rodanianas durante la segunda mitad del siglo XII. El análisis prosopográfico permite seguir el trayecto de cuatro hombres que se han formado sobre todo en la escuela catedral de Nîmes. Siendo jueces y responsables de la cancillería condal, esos peritos son también glosadores de talento que hacen exégesis valiosas que han dejado una huella duradera en el sur de Francia. Su presencia al lado del príncipe se aprecia particularmente en el contexto de la Gran Guerra meridional y tiende a profesionalizar poco a poco el entorno feudal del mismo. Convertidos en consejeros de pleno derecho, esos hombres han sabido promover la argumentación jurídica como nueva arma de la afirmación política.
