. - The geological formations and the landforms attributed to the Tertiary-Quaternary transition are quite distinct from those of the Quaternary. This transitional period is characterised by climatic changes and by orogenic movements which gave rise to the major features of the present landscape.

. - Les formations géologiques et les modelés attribués à la charnière plio-quaternaire sont distincts de ceux du Quaternaire. Cette période charnière se caractérise par des changements climatiques et des mouvements orogéniques préfigurant l'essentiel des paysages actuels.
