The Agrias amydon complex in the high Amazon basin (Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Brazil) (Lepidoptera, Nymphalidae). P. I. Lathy and P. Rebillard reported three new subspecies of Agrias amydon Hewitson, but did not describe them. The first and the second one were collected and identified respectively in the upper Madeira River basin (Madre de Dios, Peru) and on the eastern slopes of the Ecuadorian Andes. They are described here under their respective names Agrias amydon lathyi n. ssp. and Agrias amydon klugi n. ssp. The third one, from the upper Huallaga Valley, has commonly but mistakenly been known under the name Agrias tryphon Fruhstorfer as P. Rebillard first suggested. It is described here under the name Agrias amydon philoxenus n. ssp.

P. I. Lathy et P. Rebillard ont signalé trois nouvelles sous-espèces d'Agrias amydon Hewitson sans les décrire. La première et la seconde, identifiées respectivement à partir de collectes du haut Madeira (Pérou, Madre de Dios) et des versants orientaux de la cordillère équatorienne, sont décrites ici sous le nom d'Agrias amydon lathyi n. ssp. et d'Agrias amydon klugi n. ssp. La troisième, du haut Huallaga, a été confondue par P. Rebillard avec Agrias tryphon Fruhstorfer. Elle est décrite ici sous le nom d'Agrias amydon philoxenus n. ssp.
