A new genus of mantid from French Guiana (Mantodea, Acanthopidae). Ovalimantis maculata n. gen., n. sp. is described on the basis of a single male from French Guiana, closely related to Acontistinae.

Ovalimantis maculata n. gen., n. sp. est décrite d’après un seul mâle en provenance de Guyane française, proches des Acontistinae.
