Urban growth and unity. Choisy-Le-Roi taken as an example. (Abstract.)—On accepting the hypothesis thatsite development is the reflection of the collective activity of the inhabitants, one discovers that a historical study of site gives an account, at a given era, of the consolidation or disintegration of urban life. The limited example of one Paris suburb thus permits the portrayal, on diagrams and maps, of the autonomy or the dependence ofthis suburb, also the illustration of the particular characteristics of its activity and the indications of its vitaiity. By working on this material, provided by the town itself, it is possible to avoid certain draw-backs of those methods which classify the facts of urban geography into catégories which are not relevant.
