Geography and water-budgets. In view of the increase of needs, the management of the water-resources, and the cycle of water can no longer be content with the notion of a water-balance drawn up, a posteriori, at the end of each hydrological year. Modem management demands a more subtle analysis, both through time and space, a more elaborate process of thought leading to budget estimates, which would make it possible for society to intervene. A new way of writing the water-balance equation is offered here, which includes all the data of the geographic spacer every reservoir in the drainage basin being represented with its own process of draining and inflow.

Devant la croissance des besoins en eau, la gestion des ressources disponibles, du cycle de l'eau, ne peut plus se contenter de la seule notion de bilan hydrologique établi à la fin de chaque année hydrologique. La gestion moderne exige une analyse plus fine, dans le temps et dans l'espace, une démarche plus complexe débouchant sur de véritables budgets prévisionnels dégageant des possibilités d'intervention de la société. Une nouvelle écriture de l'équation hydrologique est proposée, intégrant toute l'épaisseur de l'espace géographique, tous les réservoirs existants dans le B. V. étant représentés avec leurs processus de vidange et de recharge.
