: Enunciation provides us with a guideline for the study of the history of French discourse analysis (DA) (1970-1986). The naive notion of a subject that could be identified by its traces has given way to that of an ideological subject, which thus refers enunciation to a metadiscourse (Marxism). The Mexico Symposium of 1977 is a turning- point. Henceforth discourse analysis is characterized by the search for the heterogeneous, the systematic description of the place of the subject, and the importance of the discursive event. The latter notion, which is basic to a history-oriented discourse analysis, implies the construction of a specific subject through fragmented utterances. It also implies that the contemporary linguistic awareness must be taken into account.

RÉSUMÉ : L'inondation fournit un fil directeur pour aborder l'histoire du champ français de l'analyse de discours (AD) (1970-86). De la position naïve du sujet repérable à ses traces, on passe à un sujet idéologique : mais renonciation est ainsi renvoyée à un métadiscours (marxisme). Le colloque de Mexico (1977) marque un tournant. L'AD dès lors est marquée par la recherche de l'hétérogène, la mise en évidence, dans la description, de places de sujets, l'importance de l'événement discursif. Cette notion, essentielle pour une AD tournée vers l'histoire, renvoie, dans la dispersion des énoncés, à la construction d'un sujet singulier et implique la prise en compte de la conscience linguistique de l'époque.
