The Hsinchu Science-based Industrial Park, first center of hig-tech industry of Taïwan. Industrial development in Taïwan has experienced significant growth over the past four decades. In 1 980, a science-based industrial park was established in Hsinchu by the government to foster the development of high-tech industries. Favored with a strategic location and set within a number of research facilities, the HSIP achieve an integration, unique in Taïwan, of enterprise, community and parkland. By the end of 1989, a total of 107 high-tech enterprises has set up operations and the major industry is computers and peripherals.

Taïwan a connu au cours des quatre dernières décennies une croissance industrielle exceptionnelle. En 1980, un parc industriel a vocation scientifique a été établi à Hsinchu par le gouvernement pour promouvoir le développement des industries à haute technologie. Bénéficiant d'une situation privilégiée et implanté au voisinage de nombreuses institutions de recherche, le Parc a réussi, fait unique à Taïwan, l'intégration d'une zone d'activité, d'un milieu de vie et d'espaces verts. Fin 1989, 107 entreprises de haute technologie étaient en activité, la principale industrie représentée étant celle des ordinateurs et de leurs périphériques...
