The Geographical Institute of Lille : hundred years of evolution. The aims of this paper is to point out and to characterize the main phases of the evolution of the Geographical Institute since it was created. 4 phases are distinguished : -the origins (1893-1904) -the rooting, the reinforcing (1904-1946) -the expansion (1946-1969) -the diversification ; Geography in a scientific university (1969-1997)

L'article essaie de repérer et de caractériser les principales phases de l'évolution de l'institut de Géographie de Lille depuis sa création. Il distingue 4 phases : -la création (1893-1904) -la consolidation, l'enracinement (1904-1946) -l'expansion (1946-1969) -la diversification ; la géographie dans une Université scientifique (1969-1997).
