The gathering of some elementary metric data connected with the available textual criticism and the collected traditions have to some extent served as substitute for an archaeological study which is impossible to undertake. This method has rendered possible the reconstruction of the evolution of the main Agadez mosque ; in such a diagram, the two main periods would date from the first middle of the fifteenth century and from the first quarter of the sixteenth century. Beside some strong local architectural features, an ibadite influence may be seen, without any worthy reference to the malian edifices.

La collecte de données métrologiques élémentaires, associée à la critique des textes disponibles et des traditions recueillies^ a permis de relayer une étude archéologique impossible à mettre en œuvre, et de faire apparaître le schéma évolutif de la grande mosquée d'Agadez, dans lequel les deux étapes principales dateraient de la première moitié du XVème siècle et du premier quart du XVIème siècle. A une forte originalité architecturale locale (Azelik- Takadda et Aïr) semble s'ajouter une influence ibadite, sans référence notable aux édifices maliens .
