The photographie representations of the New Caledonian Events from 1984 to 1989 in the French metropolitan and Caledonian press (4th actor in the conflict), registered in a System of opposition between pro and independents, sketched the portrait of a violent and racist New-Caledonian, which became the major stake in the French domestic policy. The pictured reproductions of the conflict which was treated more as a civil war than a politic crisis, treated about the local antagonisms, not for them but as a arguments of a power struggle between "left" and "right", RPCR and FLNKS.

Les représentations photographiques des événements calédoniens de 1984-1989, dans la presse (perçue comme le quatrième acteur du conflit), métropolitaine et calédonienne inscrite dans un système d'opposition entre pro et anti indépendantistes, esquissèrent le portrait d'une Nouvelle-Calédonie violente, raciste, devenue l'enjeu majeur de la politique intérieure française. Les reproductions imagées du conflit, traité davantage comme une guerre civile plutôt qu'une crise politique, traitèrent des antagonismes locaux non pas pour eux-mêmes, mais comme arguments d'une lutte de pouvoir entre Droite et Gauche, RPCR et FLNKS.
