The unedited correspondence between Blondel and Cochet is of interest in particular in throwing light on the composition of Blondel's Trilogy on Thought, Being and Action. It shows the awakening, in 1934, of tenacious opposition to the philosopher from Aix. It shows especially the intentions and preoccupations which inspired the latter in the elaboration of works which in the long run would impose themselves for consideration on university-philosophers as well as catholic theologians. These letters, although often allusive or anecdotal, have a significance which surpasses their explicit contents. When read in contrast with the major published texts, they gain from substance of these ; reciprocally, they restore to these the movement of their coming into being and, on occasion, furnish them with the author's commentary. La correspondance inédite entre Blondel et Cochet a notamment l'intérêt d'éclairer la composition de la Trilogie de M. Blondel sur la Pensée, l'Être et l'Action. Elle montre le réveil, en 1934, d'une opposition tenace au philosophe d'Aix. Elle manifeste surtout les intentions et les préoccupations qui inspirent celui-ci dans l'élaboration d'une œuvre qui finira par s'imposer à la considération des philosophes universitaires comme des théologiens catholiques. Ces lettres, souvent allusives ou anecdotiques, ont une portée qui dépasse leur teneur explicite. Lues en contrepoint aux grands textes publiés, elles bénéficient de leur substance ; réciproquement, elles restituent le mouvement de leur genèse et leur apportent parfois le commentaire de l'auteur.
