Laniado and Batya Dashti, A Byzantine lead weight from the port of Iamnia (Yavneh-Yam) and the title έφορος. — This one pound weight records the names of two έφοροι who issued it. Their title is one of several Greek equivalents for the Latin curator civilatis. Iamnia is the third city known to have had magistrates bearing this title in early Byzantine times.
