Réédition et commentaire du POxy XI 1357. — The liturgical calender POxy XI 1357 was published for the first time by Grenfell and Hunt in 1915. The new edition given here reexamines a number of restitutions introduced, perhaps too hastily, in the original edition and repeated ever since. It is followed by a historical commentary treating questions such as the organization of liturgical time, the use of the town's churches made by stational liturgy, and the place taken by saints in the cycle of feasts and in the dedication of churches. Finally, a new interpretation is given of the function of the document and of the conditions in which it was produced.

Publié pour la première fois en 1915 par Grenfell et Hunt, le calendrier liturgique POxy XI 1357 fait ici l'objet d'une nouvelle édition qui revient sur un certain nombre de restitutions introduites de façon peut-être trop hâtive. Cette édition est accompagnée d'un commentaire historique portant sur l'organisation du temps liturgique, sur les églises et leur utilisation par la liturgie stationnale, et sur la place réservée aux saints tant dans les fêtes que dans la dédicace des lieux de culte. La fonction et les conditions d'élaboration du document font, enfin, l'objet d'une nouvelle interprétation.
