The implications for indicative planning of recent advances in economic theory The paper reexamines the role of indicative planning in a market economy in light of recent developments in economie theory. Particular emphasis is put on the theories of teams, of organizations and of information exchanges as well as on game theory. The paper also examines the rationale for the existence a specifie organism which specializes in planning. Finally, implications and policy recommendations for the French planning experience are discussed.

L'apport des théories économiques récentes à la planification indicative L'article réexamine le rôle de la planification dans une économie libérale en s'appuyant sur les développements récents de la théorie économique, en particulier la théorie des équipes, la théorie des jeux, les théories de l'échange d'information et la théorie des organisations. Il conclut en explorant les raisons pour l'existence d'un organisme spécialisé dans la planification, et en tirant quel­ques leçons applicables à l'expérience française.
