Die zauberischen kettenbriefe Seit mehr als einem Jahrhundert werden diese sogenannten Kettenbriefe verbreitet, es sei derm von Sankt Anton, oder aus Lourdes oder von einem amerikanischen Oberst. Wie jeder es weiss, müssen sie X mal aufgeschrieben und an andere gesandt werden, sonst bringt es Unglück. Die Verfasser dieses Artikels haben mehr als tausend Kettenbriefe gesammelt. Sie stallen sie vor, sie zerlegen sie und zeigen ihr autoritäres und zauberisches Funktionieren. Nach anderen empirischen Angaben weisen sie auch auf, wie die Opfer dieser Briefe sich dabei verhalten. Dieses vielseitige Verhaltn offenbart, dass viele Leute sie doch ignorieren ; aber andere ziehen heut wi gestern vor, aus Angst vor dem bösen Blick, an dieser Kette teilzunehmen um darin einem taüschenden Schütz zu finden ohne es bewusst zu sein, dass sie so fordem und unterstutzen.

Magical chains These chains, either from St-Antoine or Lourdes or from an American colonel, have been circulating for nearly a century. He who receives one of them must recopy it X times and send it to others not to bring misfortunes upon himself. The authors of this articles have collected more than thousend of those chains. They present them, analyse them and shown the way they work both magically and autoritatively. As an echo and from an other corpus, they point out the reactions they call forth among those who are victimized by them. These reactions, which aren’t univocal, reveal that if a lot of people ignore them, others, for fear of the «evil eye», prefer to join the chain in order to find some deceptive refuge, without realizing they support and perpetuate it.

Depuis près d'un siècle circulent ces chaînes qu'on appelle chaînes de Saint-Antoine, de Lourdes ou d'un colonel américain et que celui qui les reçoit doit recopier X fois et adresser à d’autres pour ne pas attirer sur lui le malheur. Les auteurs de cet article ont recueilli plus de mille d'entre elles. Ils les présentent, les analysent et montrent leur fonctionnement autoritaire et magique. Comme en écho et à partir d’un autre corpus, ils indiquent quelles réactions elles suscitent chez ceux qui en sont les victimes. Réactions qui ne sont pas univoques et révèlent que si beaucoup les ignorent, d’autres, aujourd’hui comme hier, par hantise du «mauvais œil, préfèrent s'agréger à la chaîne pour y trouver quelque illusoire refuge, sans toujours se rendre compte qu'ils la nourrissent et la perpétuent.
