. — A bibliographical study of the récent studies concerning the flora and the vegetation of this region, and of the surrounding regions (Burgundy-Switzerland), allows us to comment on the research in this field. It is possible to insist upon the relative importance and originality of the forests communities (Fagion, Vaccinio-Piceion) , the prairie vegetation (Meso et Xero-bromion, Molinion) and of specialised areas (peat-bogs, screes), and also upon the taxonomic interest of certain constitutives species. In spite of the important number. of pure taxonomical or phytosociological documents, geographers — by using these documents as operational setting — were able to define their contribution and their specific methods. A general cartography of the Jura Mountains vegetation is now possible through the amount of research done.

. — L'analyse bibliographique des travaux les plus récents surtout, portant sur la flore et la végétation de la région concernée mais aussi des zones voisines (Bourgogne, Suisse), permet une mise au point de la recherche en ce domaine. On dégage ainsi l'importance relative et l'originalité des groupements forestiers (Fagion, Vaccinio-Piceion), prairiaux (Meso et Xero-Bromion, Molinion) et spécialisés (tourbières, éboulis), de même que l'intérêt taxonomique de certaines espèces constitutives. Malgré l'abondance des documents purement phytosociologiques ou taxonomiques, les géographes — en utilisant ces documents comme cadre opératoire — ont pu définir leur apport et leur méthodologie spécifique. Les matériaux accumulés permettent d'envisager une cartographie d'ensemble de la végétation du Jura.
