How are family and occupational itineraries interrelated ? How to understand crucial decision-making points, the links between them, and bargaining conditions within marriage ? A study of two generations (12 years apart) of women is used to analyze the changes that have arisen, in particular, with regard to social origins, the importance of diplomas, and bargaining between spouses.

Les rapports conjugaux ont changé ; l'insertion des femmes dans l'emploi aussi. Le problème est de bien comprendre l'articulation entre les itinéraires familiaux et les itinéraires professionnels, les moments cruciaux des décisions, leur enchaînement, les conditions de la négociation conjugale. Les auteurs traitent de ces problèmes à partir de l'étude de deux «générations espacées de 12 ans» de femmes, et analysent ce qui a changé entre les deux, notamment le poids du diplôme, de l'origine sociale et de la négociation entre conjoints.
