After a short introduction by writer and professor of literature, Qadam-‘Alī Sarāmī (pp. 6-8), Zahrā Fatḥī presents in Part I (pp. 9-20) a cursory overview of the life of ‘Ayn al-Qoḍāt (d. 1131), his works, and his Sufi affiliations, drawing upon primary sources and citing a few modern studies in Persian. However, the meat of the book, as the title suggests, deals with ‘Ayn al-Qoḍāt’s mystical theosophy (‘erfān), and in particular his views about the “school of love” (maḏhab-e ‘ešq). Short se...
