This contribution focuses on the sepulchral landscape of the Halikarnassos peninsula during the Hellenistic period. It is based on the assumption that the theatrical sense, described by J. J. Pollitt as series of stage settings, which seems to have been a leading principle behind the Hellenistic terrace sanctuaries, also played a prominent role in the sepulchral architecture and planning in the south-eastern Aegean.
