Enfatiza que o prazer de ler se dá com a necessidade de aprender para a vida, quando o leitor se reflete nas relações, nas práticas que desenvolve, e na sua recriação enquanto pessoa. Analisa as práticas informacionais de leitura, considerando as possibilidades de mudanças geradas nas atitudes e formas de vidas de meninos de rua, partindo do princípio que a leitura constitui uma teia de possibilidades e de mudanças que oportuniza a construção de idéias, sentimentos, posturas e ações. Considera a relação leitura/biblioteca/menino de rua, acreditando na biblioteca como um espaço de inclusão social, cuja uma das vias de acesso é a geração, recepção e uso da informação, adquirida através da leitura, como mediadora do eu – cidadão, sujeito de sua aprendizagem numa sociedade que se rotula, dialógica e aprendente. A tônica dada à questão da leitura no contexto de menino de rua tenciona responder aos desafios dos múltiplos olhares da responsabilidade social da Biblioteconomia e da Ciência da Informação. Conclui que refletir sobre a questão da democratização da leitura despertada pelo diálogo e por um saber/fazer significa mergulhá-la num contexto social dinâmico, numa multiplicidade de espaços que desafiam os limites da sociedade da informação e do conhecimento, onde as situações de exclusão são causadas, na maioria das vezes, pela falta de acesso à informação e pela ausência de políticas públicas que venham matar a fome da lucidez e da consciência, e não apenas a fome do corpo.

It emphasizes that the pleasure of reading is with the need to learn for life, when the player is reflected in relationships, practical designs, and its recreation as a person. It analyze the information production of reading, considering the possibilities of change generated in the attitudes and ways of life of street children, on the assumption that reading is a web of possibilities and changes that favors the construction of ideas, feelings, attitudes and actions. Does the relationship reading/library/street child, believing in the library as an area of social inclusion, the route of access is the generation, receipt and use of information acquired through reading, as a mediator of the self – the citizen, subject their learning in a society that labels, dialogic and learner. The emphasis given to the question of reading in the context of street child will meet the challenges of multiple perspectives of the social responsibility of Library and Information Science. It concludes that reflect on the democratization of reading awakened by dialogue and a knowledge and means to dip it in a social dynamic, a multiplicity of spaces that challenge the limits of the information society and knowledge, where the exclusion is caused in most cases, lack of access to information and lack of public policies that will kill the hunger of lucidity and consciousness, not just the hunger of the body.
