Comment l’anthropologue peut-il identifier et analyser les modalités concrètes par lesquelles se réalisent les passages à l’âge d’homme ou de femme dans les sociétés européennes du présent ? Ce travail prend l’exemple des analyses anthropologiques sur les écritures de soi pour mettre en évidence la manière dont elles expriment et produisent à la fois appartenance de sexe (ici le sexe féminin) et appartenance à un groupe d’âge. De sorte que pratique et abandon d’une forme d’écriture peuvent être interprétés à la fois comme des rites d’institution et des rites de passage. En conclusion, l’auteur s’interroge sur le dialogue entre les outils conceptuels mobilisés par l’anthropologie et par la sociologie, cette dernière se fondant plutôt sur les notions de socialisation et/ou d’interactions.

How can the anthropologist identify and analyse the concrete terms and conditions through which female and male transition to adulthood is realized in contemporary European societies? The author takes the example of anthropological analysis of self-writing to highlight the ways they both express and produce gender belonging (here the feminine gender) and membership of an age group. So much so that the practice and abandon of a form of writing can be interpreted both as rites of institution and rites of passage. To conclude, the author questions the dialogue between the conceptual tools mobilized by anthropology and sociology, the latter basing itself more on the notions of socialisation and/or interactions.
