Maria Elena Balza, « Le site de Kınık-Höyük et la Cappadoce méridionale : recherches archéologiques et historiques », Institut français d’études anatoliennes, ID : 10.4000/books.ifeagd.3257
Since 2007 a team of researchers from the University of Pavia began a series of archaeological research, historical and epigraphic in Niğde region of southern Cappadocia. This research led in 2011 to the opening of genuine archaeological excavations on the site of Kınık Höyük, one of the most interesting settlement of the region due to its geographic location and its dimensions. In this short contribution we propose on the one hand, to present the results of the first two excavation campaigns on the site and on the other hand, to expose historical research underway in the region. Since ancient times, Southern Cappadocia has indeed played a key role as a contact and exchange zone between different inputs, from the heart of Anatolia to the north, to the Levant the south and Assyria in in the east.
