Peut‑on choisir l’année 1948, celle de la création de l’État d’Israël, comme un point de repère pour une étude de l’histoire de la littérature hébraïque moderne ? C’est une vision un peu réductrice ; par contre, on peut accepter le fait que cette littérature se dessine autour de deux périodes majeures et deux centres de création : celle de la renaissance hébraïque qui débute en Europe à la fin du xixe siècle et celle de la période contemporaine, à partir des années 1930 du xxe siècle dont le centre est la Palestine devenue Israël, qui nous mène jusqu’à nos jours. En ce qui concerne la poésie, le passage à l’accent sépharade en Palestine peut nous servir de point de repère.

Can one choose the year 1948, the creation of the State of Israel, as a landmark for a study of the history of modern Hebrew literature? It’s a little reductive vision; on the other hand, we can accept the fact that this literature is drawn around two major periods and two centers of creation: that of the Hebrew Renaissance which begins in Europe at the end of the nineteenth century and that of the contemporary period, beginning about 1930, whose center is Palestine became Israel, which leads us to our days. Dealing with poetry, the prosodical passage from Askhenazi accent to Sephardic one in Palestine might serve as a marking point.

האם ניתן לראות בשנת 1948, שנת ההקמה של מדינת ישראל, תאריך מפתח בהיסטוריוגראפיה של הספרות העברית המודרנית? נראה, שזו תפישה פשטנית ומטעה. לעומת זאת, ניתן בהחלט לזהות שתי תקופות מרכזיות ושני מרכזים גאוגרפיים שונים בעידן המודרני : ספרות התחיה המתחילה באירופה לקראת סוף המאה ה-19 והספרות בת זמננו המתפתחת בעיקר בפלשתינה מראשית שנות 30 של המאה העשרים לערך. במה שנוגע לשירה, ניתן בהחלט לראות במעבר, שהתרחש בפלשתינה, מההטעמה האשכנזית לזו הספרדית נקודת ציון חשובה בשאלת התארוך.
