Within the picturesque setting of the Larnaca Salt Lake, in the vicinity of the Hala Sultan mosque, in the southeastern coast of Cyprus, lay the remains of a flourishing Late Bronze Age settlement. The archaeological expeditions led by the late Professor Paul Åström between the 1970s and 2005 brought to light critical archaeological data from various segments of the Hala Sultan Tekke settlement, which disclosed its prosperity and vigorous extra-insular contacts.
