In October 2022 the Société d’Études Anglaises Contemporaines (SEAC) devoted its annual conference to the œuvre of ‘a writer, a poet, an essayist, a painter, a drama writer, a scriptwriter’ (Mohr xv), and a luminary of 20th- and 21st-century British culture: John Berger.
