“It’s a sad, sad world” (51:41): this off-camera comment fits to a nicety the “case” of Fulton and Pepe’s Lost in La Mancha, but only ironically so. Their film is – or was supposed to be – a documentary (what we now call a making of) shot about and around Terry Gilliam’s long-expected adaptation of Miguel Cervantes’s Don Quixote, but when the film was eventually abandoned both directors turned it into something quite different, the record of what critics would call the unmaking of Terry Gilli...
