Les métadiscours pornographiques

Cet article s’intéresse à la pornographie comme discours, et aux discours sur la pornographie (discours de critique, d’analyse, de censure, de défense…) que nous appellerons métadiscours pornographiques. La réflexion porte plus précisément sur les discours féministes visant non pas à interdire la pornographie mais à défendre des représentations traduisant une vision positivée de la sexualité des femmes et valorisant leur statut de sujet plutôt que d’objet sexuel. Ces discours s’inscrivent dans une branche du mouvement féministe souvent qualifiée de « pro-sexe » ou « sex positive » qui produit films, ouvrages, vidéos en ligne, photographies, etc., qu’on qualifiera alors de métapornographie féministe, dans la mesure où ces productions partent d’un geste réflexif critique sur la pornographie dite mainstream, laquelle devient alors le discours-objet de la métapornographie féministe.

This paper addresses the issue of pornography seen as social discourse, as well as the discourse about pornography: analytical discourse and critical discourse, discourse promoting the censorship of pornography or on the contrary discourse supporting pornography. All discourse about pornography will be considered here as the “metadiscourse of pornography”. More precisely, we will examine the feminist discourse which is not promoting censorship but promoting positive representations of women’s sexuality within the realm of pornography itself. This specific type of discourse aims to valorize women as subjects of their own desire rather than objects in the male gaze. It is related to the branch of the feminist movement usually referred to as “sex positive feminism” or “féminisme pro sex”, producing movies, books, online videos and images which can be called “feminist metapornography”, since the production of these sexually explicit representations are led by a critical analysis of (and reflexive reaction to) the “mainstream pornography”. Mainstream pornography becomes then the discursive object of feminist metapornography.
