Vitale Brovarone Alessandro, « Qualche debito dantesco nei confronti della cultura d’Oltralpe: Brunetto, Arnaut », Studi Francesi, ID : 10.4000/studifrancesi.697
References to French and Provençal culture in Dante are rather usual and evident. In some cases, as in Inferno XV and Purgatorio XXVI, they are sometimes less evident, even if their stylistic impact is relevant. French aspects of Brunetto Latini’s language and culture are highlighted, as well as some scientific questions very usual in Paris during Brunetto’s stay in this town, and probably taken by him to Florence. Some passages of Arnaut Daniel’s speech have been reconsidered, trying to explain the purpose and the meaning of the Provençal passage of Purgatorio XXVI, within the context of the last cantos of the Comedy.
