Origins The SEC (Spoken English Corpus) is a collection of BBC recordings from the 1980s, grouping eleven different radio speech styles ranging from news and interviews to poetry reading. The data represents over five hours of natural-sounding British English from 53 different speakers (17 male and 36 female).
