The King of Poland Jean III Sobieski (1629-1696) has many residences in the Commonwealth of Poland-Lithuanie. The most famous Wilanów Palace in Warsaw is considered as the "Polish Versailles". Henri Gascar, La famille Sobieski, Muzeum Pałacu Króla Jana III w Wilanowie. The king remained all his life very attached to Ruthenian Galicia where he was born in the castle of Olesko (in Ukrainian Олесько). In 1683, he celebrated his victory against the Turks at the castle of Żółkiew (in Ukrainia...
