Résumé En

This chapter presents a status quæstionis of the editing of Templar charters in the Iberian Peninsula. The Crown of Aragon is undoubtedly the place where the Templars have been best studied on a general level. The Crown of Aragon has a very special place and importance in Templar studies. In Catalonia Templar sources have benefited from more interest than in any other part of the Crown of Aragon. In comparison with the territories of the Aragonese Crown, the kingdoms of Portugal, Castile, and Navarre have been slow in editing Templar sources. The editing of Templar charters in the various territories of the Crown of Aragon, especially in Catalonia, has taken the lead; but some similar undertakings have been proposed for Portugal and Castile and this work is poised to succeed in Navarre, where the Diplomatario del Temple en Navarra will be available.
