Granier focuses on the episodes of history that have been accompanied and chronicled by the most various artists of the last fifty years, explicitly linking each hit either to an event (e.g. the end of the Iron Curtain or the Northern Ireland troubles) or to the atmosphere of a period. He reveals or highlights many details on the genesis and the fate of those musical hits, while synthesizing the very spirit of each era.

Granier suit les épisodes de l’histoire qu’ont accompagnés et chroniqués les artistes les plus divers de ces cinquante dernières années et rattache explicitement chaque succès soit à un évènement (fin du Rideau de fer ou du conflit nord-irlandais...), soit à l’atmosphère d’une période. Il révèle ou rappelle de nombreux détails de la genèse et du destin de ces tubes musicaux tout en synthétisant l’esprit de chaque époque.
