与USC 一道成章 Growing up with the USC    “‘Growing up together’ at the USC”I discovered the “Universities Service Center” or USC in 1982, while in the second year of my PhD program at INALCO, the University of Languages and Civilizations in Paris. I had already spent a few days in Hong Kong during the summer of 1978, after two months at the Beijing Language Institute - Beijing Yüyan xueyuan 北京语言学院, now Beijing Language and Culture University, but it was my first long stay in the territory. I arrived with a letter of recommendation from Lucien Bianco, then a senior scholar at the Center for Research on Modern and Contemporary China (EHESS/CNRS), to present to John Dolfin, director of the USC.
