Bakounine et la Commune

Exiled in Switzerland at the time of the events, the Russian revolutionary Michel Bakunin (1814-1876) was not a direct actor of the Paris Commune. Nevertheless, the activity he carried out before the Parisian insurrection deserves to be related to it. He was also a committed observer of the communalist experiment, before becoming an ardent defender of it in the months following its crushing. All these reasons lead us to question the "anarchist" dimension of the Commune.

Exilé en Suisse au moment des événements, le révolutionnaire russe Michel Bakounine (1814-1876) ne fut pas un acteur direct de la Commune de Paris. Néanmoins, l'activité qu'il déploya en amont de l'insurrection parisienne mérite d'y être rapportée. Il fut aussi un observateur engagé de l'expérience communaliste, avant d'en être un ardent défenseur dans les mois qui suivirent son écrasement. Toutes ces raisons conduisent à s'interroger sur la dimension « anarchiste » de la Commune.
