"Experimental results obtained during oil displacement by water within a cell are presented. This cell, built with acrylic (an oil wet material) simulates a natural vuggy fractured porous medium. Based on the experimental results, a theoretical model was developed. It was found that the theory fitted in a reasonable way the experimental data. Thus it can be said that the theoretical model can be a useful tool to explain oil recovery processes in vuggy fractured reservoirs."
