Mokhtar Ben Barka, « Les universités fondamentalistes entre tradition et modernité », Revue française d’études américaines, ID : 10670/1.5ncyr6
The 1960s and 1970s witnessed the emergence of a new style of university-oriented fundamentalist higher education. Set up by renowned televangelists such as Jerry Falwell, Pat Robertson, and Oral Roberts, these universities are deeply committed to both the fundamentals of the faith and the wider educational trends in American society. After placing Liberty University, Regent University, and similar institutions in their historical context, this article examines the scope and impact of fundamentalist higher education. Finally, the article argues that the latter has not succeeded in having a significant impact upon American culture.
