Résumé
This article examines "Hahakigi", the introductory chapter of the "Tale of Genji" in relation with the understanding of the novel exposed in the chapter "Hotaru" and makes an attempt to read the discussion of women with its embedded narratives as a representation of the process of story telling (monogatari).
