La question du politique traverse l’ensemble de l’œuvre de Jean Genet, dans laquelle il assume la position marginale que la société lui a assignée. Une position qu’il a préservée en travaillant sa solitude, comme une manière de déjouer toute compromission sociale, mais surtout politique. C’est ainsi qu’il place au centre de son œuvre l’articulation – toujours à inventer – entre le politique et le poétique, où la révolte, le jeu et l’amour, occupent une place privilégiée.
