The Historical and Theological Lexicon of the Septuagint is an internationalproject which aims to create a comprehensive lexicon dedicated to Septuagint Greek.The first volume, published in August 2020, includes the article ἄγαλμα “glory”, thelast one signed by M. Harl.Attempting to homage the distinguished Septuagint scholar, this article will explore,through the presentation of a sample entry, the innovative approach of thislexicographical project and its difference from other research tools. Moreover, it willillustrate how the project is not only relevant for biblical scholars, but also toclassical, general linguists, historians of religion and patristic scholars.
