Cet article a pour ambition de porter un regard original sur l’histoire de la construction identitaire du gardien de but de football. S’il n’existe pas de loi spécifique le concernant, l’étude des transformations de la codification du football depuis 150 ans, notamment à travers les archives du Board, permet de le distinguer de tous les autres joueurs. Ainsi, l’ipséité du gardien de but peut être mise en évidence par l’intermédiaire de la construction d’un statut unique, notamment caractérisé par une motricité spécifique, une tenue particulière et un positionnement sur le terrain éloigné de ses coéquipiers. L’évolution de ses interactions avec la balle, l’espace et autrui lui ont permis de transformer sa motricité pour dépasser sa fonction première et devenir progressivement le premier attaquant relanceur de son équipe. Par la suite, il a endossé, à la fin du XXe siècle, le rôle d’un véritable joueur de soutien, quand son équipe est en possession du ballon. Cette recherche montre que la stabilité de l’identité du gardien de but de football affichée par les lois du jeu n’est qu’apparente. En effet, elle cache de profondes mutations, sources de la construction et de transformations de son identité.
The Construction of the Football Goalkeeper’s Identity: A Historical ApproachThis study takes an innovative look at the history of the soccer goalkeeper’s identity construction (although there is no specific rule about him), codification of which has transformed over 150 years—as revealed through Board records, among other factors—making it possible to distinguish him from the other players. Indeed, the otherness of the goalkeeper has been highlighted through construction of a unique status that is characterized by factors such as a specific motricity, different clothing, and a positioning on the field distant from his teammates. The goalkeeper’s evolving interactions with the ball, and his own and other environments, have enabled him to transform his motricity and exceed his original function. He has gradually become the team’s first attacker—the initiator. By the end of the 20th century, he had assumed the role of a real support player when his team had the ball. Findings show that the apparent stability of the football goalkeeper’s identity, as displayed in the rules of the game, hide profound changes, sources for constructing his identity, and transformation.
Der Artikel will einen originellen Blick auf die Geschichte der identitären Konstruktion des Fußballtorwarts werfen. Auch wenn es keine spezifischen Regel für ihn gibt, kann man ihn dennoch durch die Analyse der Veränderungen der Fußballregeln in den letzten 150 Jahre, besonders mittels der Archive des Boards, von allen anderen Spielern unterscheiden. Die Einzigartigkeit des Torwarts lässt sich anhand der Konstruktion eines einzigartigen Status aufzeigen, der besonders durch eine spezifische Motorik, eine besondere Kleidung und eine weit von seinen Mitspielern entfernte Position charakterisiert ist. Die Evolution seiner Interaktionen mit dem Ball, dem Raum und den Mitspielern haben dazu geführt, dass er seine Motorik änderte und seine ursprüngliche Funktion überwand, um nach und nach der erste, den Angriff einleitenden Spieler seiner Mannschaft zu werden. Si no existe ley específica que lo concierne, el estudio de las transformaciones de la codificación del fútbol desde 150 años atrás, notablemente a través de los archivos del Board, permite distinguirlo de todos los demás jugadores.De esta manera, la “ipseidad” del arquero puede ponerse en evidencia por el intermediario de la construcción de un estatus único, caracterizado por una motricidad específica, una tenida particular y un posicionamiento sobre el terreno alejado de sus compañeros de equipo. Se non esiste una legge specifica che la riguarda, lo studio delle trasformazioni della codificazione del calcio da 150 anni, in particolare attraverso gli archivi del Board, permette di distinguerla da tutti gli altri giocatori.Così, l’ipseità del portiere può essere evidenziata per mezzo della costruzione di uno statuto unico, particolarmente caratterizzato da una motricità specifica, un abbigliamento particolare e un posizionamento sul terreno lontano dai suoi compagni. L’evoluzione delle sue interazioni con la palla, lo spazio e gli altri gli hanno permesso di trasformare la sua motricità per superare la sua funzione primaria e diventare progressivamente il primo attaccante rilanciatore della sua squadra.
