"This article focuses on identity and its cultural components, within the frameworkof contemporary society. The work underlines the hazy state of the conceptualand semantic field in which theoretical thought moves on these matters. The main focusof this article will be to propose the existence of a significant relationship betweenculture, identity and community. Attention also focuses on the fact that tardo-modernsociety has led to a profound questioning of the frameworks of reference and of the culturalmodels that have traditionally served as a support for the concept of identity. Thischange occurred through a deep-sounding redefinition by tardo-modern society of themeans of production of individuals and of their way of expressing themselves as such. Inthis aspect, the transition from a community characterized by its implicit identity to one marked by its express, conscious condition, was to specify one of the roads taken by thisresubstantiating itinerary. Following our line of argument, at this point we stand up forthe idea that, in the current reflexive society, the identitary and communitary conditionarises as a public-spirited feature susceptible to being consciously modelled by the socialactors, who are able to and should exert some effect on the definition of its limits andcontents."
