In this article, we will focus our attention on the so-called Diario de Bordeaux, which Antonieta Rivas Mercado kept during her stay in that city in southwestern France and whose period covers October 12, 1930, to February 7, 1931. Although the first diary entry is recorded on November 6, 1930, and the last one on January 23, 1931, thus, only 22 days of that period of reinvention and distancing from Mexico seemed to be threatening. Through the writer's diary entries, we intend to sketch a map of the intellectual process that would lead her to explore the topics she wanted to write about, plan her next years of life, and structure future works.
