Paisaje y cosmovisión en la poesía de Augusto Roa Bastos: volver al ser paraguayo

In this article, we try to understand how Agusto Roa Bastos, by creating a cosmovision based on a total landscape, try to preserve the Paraguayan identity. We consider landscape in its geographical, artistical and mental dimensions to highlight how identity takes its roots in the Paraguayan ground as space of origin and support of the creative and subjective vision. therefore, the poetic landscape can reveal more the creative and observative subject than the object created, that is the Paraguayan nature. In the case of Augusto Roa Bastos, who always represents Paraguay in his work and who had to run away from the country, we put forward the hypothesis that the Paraguayan identity in it national and individual level appears in his poetic process.

En el presente artículo, buscamos entender cómo Augusto Roa Bastos, mediante la creación de una cosmovisión que se apoya en un paisaje total, intenta preservar la identidad paraguaya. Se considera el paisaje en sus dimensiones geográfica, artística y mental para poner de manifiesto cómo la identidad se enraíza en la tierra paraguaya en tanto lugar de origen y soporte de la visión creativa y subjetiva. De ahí que el paisaje poético pueda revelar más bien al sujeto creador y observador que al objeto creado, o sea la naturaleza paraguaya. En el caso de Augusto Roa Bastos, que siempre dio a conocer el Paraguay en su obra y que tuvo que padecer el exilio, emitimos la hipótesis que en tal proceso poético se representa la identidad paraguaya tanto a nivel personal como a nivel nacional.
