New contributions to manuscript production in Avignon at the time of pope John XXII ; fragments from a pontifical of Guillaume Durand. This paper is dedicated to a series of illuminated leaves dispersed among a series of private and public collections, pages which the author has been able to determine were taken out of a pontifical of Guillaume Durand, preserved in the Biblioteca Colombina in Seville (ms 56-1-28). It is possible to determine precisely the period when this manuscript, like a number of other volumes from the same library, became the object of mutilations, as has been demonstrated by the erudite French scholar, Henry Harrisse. The rich decor of the historical initials of these pages allows one to identify the origin as Avignon, and to date them to the 1320s, at the very beginning of the installation of the papacy in the Rhone valley city. This makes them one of the earliest examples of the illustrated pontifical of Guillaume Durand.

Cette communication est consacrée à une série de feuillets enluminés dispersés entre diverses collections publiques et privées, feuillets dont l’auteur a pu déterminer qu’ils avaient été enlevés à un pontifical de Guillaume Durand conservé à la Biblioteca Colombina de Séville (ms 56-1-28). Il est possible de préciser l’époque où ce manuscrit, comme nombre d’autres volumes de la même bibliothèque, fit l’objet de mutilations, grâce au témoignage d’un érudit français, Henry Harrisse. Le riche décor d’initiales historiées de ces feuillets permet d’en situer l’origine à Avignon et de les dater des années 1320, au tout début de l’installation de la papauté dans la cité rhodanienne, ce qui en fait un des témoins les plus précoces du Pontifical de Guillaume Durand illustré.
