"A brief reflection on the elementary conditions of a cultural politicsthat is understood not only as an extension or as a concession to the culturallyleast favored. Particular interest is given to the inclusion of culturalindustries and to the specific detection of what the author calls culturalresources. These are defmed by the use that the community givesthem and for the meanings that are generated with and through them.The use of written sources, especially of the yellow pages, results in adiscussion important for designing a cartography of taste. A basic aspect—given the concept of cultural production that the author employs—is that the cultural maps must be negotiated with the community.Thus, we have the registering of cultural resources linked with thedimension that gives them their different social uses."
