Nous cherchons, par la mise en parallèle des notions de transition et transgression, à comprendre les processus de changement et leur utilisation dans le discours notamment écologique. Nous montrerons, au prisme de la sémiotique lotmanienne, l'importance du rapport à la frontière et la norme dans la compréhension des dynamiques de changement de ces notions, mais également de leurs degrés de prévisibilité et de leurs capacités d'innovation. Par le biais de la sémiotique tensive, nous aborderons les problématiques de rythme, d'intensité et d'extensité afin de nous permettre d'interroger la compatibilité tensive entre la transition écologique et la crise écologique. Une analyse sémantique révélera que le double sens de transgression - dépasser/enfreindre - permet de définir une transformation comme une innovation ou comme une infraction. La notion de transition devient-elle un outil de prédiction, de contrôle du changement et de maintien de la norme face à l'imprévisible ?

Drawing parallels between the notions of transition and transgression, we seek to understand change mechanisms and the use of those notions in the ecological discourse. With Lotman’s semiotics of culture, we will show the importance of relationship to boundary and to the language’s system in understanding the cultural dynamics in these notions, as well as their degrees of predictability and their capacity for innovation. Addressing the issues of rhythm, intensity and extent through the lens of tensive semiotics will enable us to question the tensive compatibility between ecological transition and ecological crisis. A semantic analysis will reveal that the double meaning of transgression - to trespass/to violate- allows us to define a transformation as an innovation or as an infringement. Can the notion of transition become a tool for predicting and controlling change as well as maintaining the norm in the face of the unpredictable?
