EVALUATION LANGAGIERE EN LANGUE MATERNELLE POUR LES ENFANTS ALLOPHONES ET LES PRIMO-ARRIVANTS. UN NOUVEL INSTRUMENT : L’ELAL D’AVICENNE Après un rappel des recherches antérieures menées sur le bilinguisme, nous nous proposons de présenter l’ELAL d’Avicenne (Évaluation langagière pour allophones et primo-arrivants), outil de recherche créé par le Centre du langage du Service de psychopathologie de l’enfant et de l’adolescent de l’hôpital Avicenne (Bobigny, Seine-Saint-Denis, France). Hormis le fait que l’ELAL d’Avicenne est un outil d’évaluation langagière, son but est de faciliter, chez l’enfant dit « bilingue », l’étude du bilinguisme et des facteurs intervenant dans la qualité du bilinguisme. Au terme de la phase exploratoire, cet article analyse les intérêts et la pertinence de ce test pour les enfants dits bilingues.

LANGUAGE EVALUATION IN THE MOTHER TONGUE FOR NATIVE CHILDREN AND NEW IMMIGRANTS. A NEW TOOL : THE ELAL Avicenne After a review of earlier research on bilingualism, our object is to present the ELAL Avicenne (Language Evaluation for Allophones and new immigrants), a research tool created by the Language Center of the Child and Adolescent Psychopathology Service of the Avicenne Hospital (Bobigny, Seine-Saint-Denis, France). Over and above the fact that the ELAL Avicenne is a language evaluation tool, its aim is to facilitate the study of bilingualism and the factors which affect the quality of bilingualism in « bilingual » children. At the end of the exploratory period, this article analyses the usefulness and the pertinance of this test for children considered to be bilingual.

EVALUACION DEL LENGUAJE EN LENGUAJE MATERNO DE LOS NIÑOS ALLOFONOS Y LOS RECIEN LLEGADOS. UN NUEVO INSTRUMENTO : EL « ELAL AVICENNE » Después de recordar las investigaciones anteriores sobre el bilingüismo, presentamos ELAL Avicenne (Evaluación del lenguaje de alófonos y recién llegados), instrumento de investigación creado por el Centro del lenguaje del Servicio de Psicopatología del Niño y del Adolescente del Hospital Avicenne (Bobigny, Seine Saint Denis, Francia). ELAL no es solo un instrumento de evaluación del lenguaje, sino que mediante la observación del niño « bilingüe », facilita el estudio del bilingüismo y de los factores que intervienen en la calidad del bilingüismo. Al final de la fase exploratoria, este artículo analiza el interés y la pertinencia de este test para los niños bilingües.
