August Aichhorn fut le principal représentant du mouvement de pédagogie psychanalytique à partir des années vingt à Vienne. Par l’entrelacement entre la sphère privée et les travaux scientifiques de l’auteur, nous proposons de développer les éléments afférents à la figure paternelle pour montrer le rôle essentiel qu’ils ont joués dans la vie et l’œuvre d’A. Aichhorn.Dans cette perspective, la correspondance d’A. Aichhorn, notamment avec Anna Freud, constitue un témoignage émouvant du « partage » de la figure paternelle incarnée par S. Freud après sa disparition. Cette correspondance fait apparaître en filigrane une image de S. Freud, à la fois comme maître à penser et figure d’attachement.

August Aichhorn was the principal representative of the movement around child psychoanalysis in the twenties in Vienna. The interlinking of this article’s author’s private life and his scientific work come together here to show how the different elements of the father figure came into play in the life and work of August Aichhorn. From this point of view, August Aichhorn’s letters, especially those exchanged with Anna Freud, form an important and extremely moving testimony to the ‘sharing’ of the father figure embodied by S. Freud after his death. These letters help us to trace a very fine portrait of S. Freud both as a man of thought and as the object of great affection.
