This paper provides an overview of the concept of climate services and the current shortfall in their orientations and applications at the urban scale. It details the issues that these new services represent in projects related to adaptation to climate change for municipalities. The observation of the inadequacy of the collected climate measurements and of the climate networks is also done, putting them in perspective with new approaches to climate monitoring, in particular the citizen observations and the associated new sources of monitoring. The example of the French city of Grenoble is then used to illustrate the current deficit of climate data useful for urban diagnostics and services, even though the local issues on temperature extremes are strategic, especially for the municipal sharing platform ‘Grenoble City of Tomorrow’.

Cet article fait un état des lieux sur la notion de services climatiques, et sur le déficit actuel de leurs orientations et applications à l'échelle urbaine. Il détaille particulièrement les enjeux que représentent ces nouveaux services dans le cadre de projets liés à l'adaptation aux changements climatiques pour les municipalités. Le constat de l'inadéquation des mesures climatiques collec-tées et des réseaux de mesures est également proposé, en les mettant en perspective avec de nou-velles approches de veille climatique, en particulier la mesure citoyenne et les nouvelles sources d'observation associées. L'exemple français de la ville de Grenoble sert ensuite à illustrer le déficit actuel de données climatiques utiles aux diagnostics et services urbains, alors même que les problématiques locales sur les extrêmes thermiques sont stratégiques, en particulier pour la plateforme municipale participative et d'anticipation 'Grenoble Ville de Demain'.
